Voies navigables de France (VNF) is a State-owned and -operated public institution in charge of the ecological transition in river transport.
It manages a network of 6,700 km of canals, rivers and streams that irrigate the regions and serve a number of purposes: environmental, social and economic.
Its 4,000 employees finely regulate water resources in the general interest and with respect for the environment.
